Late in 2016 Tractor Support Services received a call from a large mining house in Africa to inspect 3 x Cat off highway 777F rigid dump trucks with the intention of purchasing them and sending them into gold production in an open pit gold mine in Africa. As these trucks had in excess of 16,000 hrs on their major components the customer approached Tractor Support Services and asked them to overhaul all major components, do all relevant cosmetical repairs and shot blast / repaint so that the trucks were in a reborn condition and ready to pump again up the mining haul road!!
The transmissions, torque converters and wheel station groups were overhauled to OEM standard and all hoses, driveline spiders and associated electrical harness/switches were changed along the way. All 3 machines had front suspensions overhauled as well as front brake groups
The 12-cylinder twin turbo charged Cat® C32 ACERT™ was given a midlife as per customers request. This job involved installing 12 new injectors (setting injector height, full valve set and installing new trim codes), 2 new turbo chargers, 2 new water regulators, fuel transfer pump, new fan belts, overhaul of radiator assembly and to finish off a full oil and filter change! Ready for the haul road!
